In the Indian state of Odisha, a family mourned the death of a 29-year-old man for about a month and performed a cremation ceremony.
However, a month later, the man returned home alive. This is reported by India Today.
The man had left home on a bicycle in late July and disappeared.
About ten days later, law enforcement officers found an unidentified, already decomposed body in a nearby rice field. It was not possible to determine the identity, but the family assumed from the clothes that it was their relative.
The body was handed over to the family and cremated.
A month later, the police informed the family that the man was alive and would be brought home.
Now law enforcement officers must find out whose body was actually cremated.
